What is Decode 6?

A Solution to the Challenge

Decode 6 is a program of the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America that provides information on soil carbon, ecosystem services, and regenerative farming practices. Even as carbon and ecosystem markets are proliferating, famers and their advisers have been searching for unbiased, science-based information they can trust.

Our goal is to drive innovation in the agricultural sector by bringing clarity to these topics through transparent, freely accessible content for all.

Strategy:
Decode 6 uses a hub-and-spoke model to connect contributors with learners.

  • We translate science content into articles, podcasts, videos, policy explainers, and infographics.
  • Content experts review the materials and provide links to additional references.
  • All Decode 6 content is made freely available through a central repository.
  • Decode 6 and its partners share content by varied communication channels.

Multimedia Content: Decode 6 is designed to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Content is bite-sized and science-based, as well as unbiased, diverse, inclusive, and actionable.
  • The Decode 6 platform has short articles, podcast episodes, video demonstrations, policy explainers, and infographics.
  • Content may be sorted by suggested user group and topic to hone in on a particular subject.
